Erin's "Flawless" Tee

Last but not least--here we are recapping Erin's "Step Up Your Tee Game" challenge in the FLAWLESS tee that fit in perfectly with the ever-so-subtle and unofficial Jay Z/Beyonce theme of the week. Erin has been stepping up her overall 5x5 game recently rocking it for a couple weeks in a row and pushing the boundaries with patterns, skirt lengths and accessories. We ain't complaining girlfrand.

And last week was a big week for our little Foochie--she turned 25 years old! So, apologies if her photos lacked their usual style attention. Erin was recovering at the end of the week after drinking one to many adult beverages ;) As she should have been doing to celebrate! Here's to another 25 years of fabulous Fooch style!

Katie's "Don't Worry, Beyonce" Tee

Recapping Katie's 5x5 Challenge from last week's "Step Up Your Tee Game" theme. Katie absolutely crushed it, like we knew she would! Her tee was clearly a hit with our fans and followers. But we were most impressed with how Katie really mixed it up by channeling 5 different distinct looks. She was Patty Professional in a pencil skirt, boho chic with big patterned pants and straight outta the tabloids in her celebrity-inspired travel look (the fedora screams "get outta my face paparazzi").

We had so much fun with you Katie! We will definitely be challenging you to another 5x5 week soon.

Summer Scarves

There's really nothing to complain about in the middle of summer in New England. We look forward to these three precious months all year while we trudge to work in our Bean Boots and not-so-chic down parkas. So, it's probably not fair to Mother Nature when we still complain about the hot, sticky, humid weather in the middle of July. But there's honestly nothing less attractive than walking into work as sweaty as you did walking out of the gym an hour before. Upper lip sweat? Yep. We said it.

But then you sit in your office all day (womp womp) where the AC is cranked up as high as it can be and that sweat that was dripping down your back is essentially frozen now. Seriously, how does one dress for this, what shall we call it...Corporate Climate Change?

The answer:  SUMMER SCARVES.

The perfect solution to all your first world summer fashion problems. It's a chic alternative to a cardigan or sweater for when the AC unit is on "snowflake mode" or chilly nights sipping wine on a roofdeck. But the Summer Scarf is easy enough to stuff in (or tie on!) your bag for those patio lunch dates outside the office.

Check out how Erin rocked one of her favorite summer scarves for last week 5x5 challenge. It's a fun coral, tribal print hand-me-down from her big sister and proven to be one of her favorite summer staples the past few months.  Well done Foochie!

Because being basic is boring.

I think it's safe to say that the "Basic Betch" theme was anything but basic for us 5x5 girls last week. Our mission for this whole FDFW fashion project that we've created is to really just provide inspiration. In today's fast-fashion world, it's so easy to think "I have NOTHING to wear" when you're starring into your massive closet full of clothes. Believe us, we've been there. But through Five Days Five Ways, we've forced ourselves to rethink how to repurpose. We love taking on the challenge with crazy printed items or silhouettes that are a bit more daring, but last week's basics-theme was also surprisingly super fun—and difficult. But hopefully, you had as much fun as we did following along all week and feel a little bit more inspired to try out some new ways to sport that LBD, classic blazer or basic tee that's been sitting in the back of your closet now.

If you missed any of the "Basic Betch" challenge over on Instagram last week, check out the full recap here. And join us as we pledge to never go basic ever again :)

(And huge, huge, huge thanks to Ashley Herrin with t.e.l.l. new england for taking all of Cass and Erin's photos this week. It's been such a blast shooting with Ashley and we are so excited for more fun in weeks to come!)

Fashion Folk Week: Recap

Happy Cinco de Mayo babes! Who's having margaritas for lunch?

On this beautiful Monday in Boston (FINALLY above 60 degrees) we're recapping last week's Fashion Folk 5x5 week with Michelle Lewis. We had so much fun embracing our inner rockstars all week and celebrating Michelle's new album release at her Official Launch Show at the Davis Square Theater.  Be sure to check back later this week for a full recap of the event.

Michelle: Rag & Bone booties

Cass: H&M Patterned tunic

Erin: Black and white abstract crop top

Jess: Black tribal print mullet dress

Five Days. Five Ways. Five Fucignas.

Recapping one of the most fun weeks with our favorite 5 siblings.  Last week, Erin and her 4 siblings styled their favorite pieces of apparel 5-ways for the ultimate sibling rivalry challenge. I think it's safe to say that this family has got some steeeeelo. Do they get it from their super cool parents? Who knows, but one thing's for sure: we will DEFINITELY be featuring these 5 beauts again for a sibling rivalry rematch. Check out how Alex, Sarah, Erin, Abby and Peter executed the challenge! And tell us, because this family is FULL of competitors, who do you think won?

Oldest sister, Alex (who's technically not a Fucigna anymore now that she's married into the Green family...but screw the technicalities, right?) took the challenge with a classic staple that every girl and guy should own: a chambray button down. And sorry, but she had an unfair advantage by having the opportunity to feature THE CUTEST BABY EVER. Welcome to the fun Miles Magoo!

Next up is kid Number 2 (true story, usually Mom Fucigna refers to her children by number. but who can blame her when you've got 5 and now adding grandkids...it's hard to keep track), Sarah with a super cute black and white polka dot blouse from Zara. We love how Sarah's new job at Gilt City is inspiring her to take some fashion risks! You go girl.

And here's our leading FDFW lady: Erin, who if you didn't already know has the worst middle child syndrome...ever. So, she took this week's competition as serious as the annual Christmas Day Fucigna family board game. With her fancy new buttery leather jacket, Erin proved that she's still got the funky edge. And look how much color she wore this week! We're always happy to see when she mixes up her usual all black ensemble with some pops of color.

Next up the youngest of the Fuci sisters comin atcha from the good 'ol College on the hill--that's Dartmouth for all you non-Big Greeners ;) She chose to take on the 5x5 challenge with a Brandy Melville graphic tee and boy did she rock it. It's definitely hard to get inspired by fashion when you're stuck trudging through feet (yes plural, feet) of snow in Hanover, NH. Bravo Ab! Can't wait for her next feature...maybe this summer when she's crushing the Boston finance scene! Mix it up with a power suit? Yes.

And last, but certainly NEVER least, the baby of the Fucigna clan: Pete.  It's clear where the 4 girls get their fashion inspiration from as they grew up with a closet 4x the size of most of their friends (they did a lot of "borrowing" clothes AKA stealing). But as his sisters grew up calling him, "The Little Mister's" sense of style has certainly not suffered by not having any older brother influences. Pete absolutely crushed his 5x5 challenge in the Jiberish red and polka dot button down. Mixing it up with multiple pairs of boots, Vans, Chucks (#taylorgang) and layers upon layers of jackets, sweaters and vests, I think it's beyond clear who the Fucigna winner is here. And can someone get this kid a modeling job? Is that weird that this is Erin writing this? Nope.

Jess' Ode to Plaid

Here's Jess, who mixed a bit of the old school classic prep with an amazing homage to the pastry delight, the donut. No one rocks the plaid quite like her, she practically bleeds plaid like any good classic Prepster does.

Well done Jess!
